Impact resistance
Depending on your building code, you may be required to have impact-resistant glass. This type of glass has a layer of polymer between the glass that can withstand wind, water and debris. Plus, it won’t shatter if it breaks.
Noise reduction
The number of panes, types of coating and layers of insulation all factor into how much noise can travel through your door. A door’s Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating will tell you how many decibels make it through the threshold.
