Single-hung
If only one panel of glass moves up and down, we call that a single-hung window. It doesn’t provide as much ventilation as a double-hung, but if you have multiple single-hungs in a room, you get a nice cross-breeze.

Double-hung
If both panels of glass move up and down, we call that double-hung. They’re easier to to clean than single-hung and give better ventilation since hot air goes out the top panel and cool air comes in through the bottom panel.

Horizontal Sliding
If your window is in an area where sliding a window open vertically might be a challenge, try a horizontal sliding window.
